Ten Things I Learned in 2019
Updated: Feb 19
Happy New Year, my friend! Before 2020 gathers all our attention, I wanted to review all I learned in 2019. So, this will be my shortest blog post to date! Haha. Here goes...
My favorite pen doesn’t fly well. It needs a warning label: “Will spontaneously combust at an altitude above 20,000 feet.” It’s still my favorite writing utensil…at ground level.
Anticipating guest blogging about bravery causes extreme cowardly angst. Who knew?
A canine good citizen can revert to lawlessness at will. She’s mostly a good dog though.
A Christmas tree provides hours of delight. (Honestly, I already knew that one.) Here’s one I didn’t know… non-traditional nail polishes, like blue and green, are fun.
There’s no drama like build-your-own-website drama. But I did it.
Blogs are passé; podcasts are in. And I’m still blogging since I need to catch up on the whole blog culture and I haven’t run out of things to say.
A family vacation, no matter how much fun, requires a follow-up vacation without the family to recuperate.
Instagram rocks. New to IG this year and I love everything about it!
After a year of “brave,” I finally have enough courage to consider transitioning to my natural hair color. Considering…maybe.
I love being my age.
What have you learned, my friend?
While this list is a little tongue-in-cheek, it represents a lot of "firsts" and learning curves for me. From training JoJo to writing again, filling two journals, penning 60 blog posts and creating 225 Instagram posts since April, to learning technology and enjoying who I am and even how old I am... these represent milestones on my journey.
Even the moss green nails I'm sporting now are growth indicators for me. You don't need to like them, because I do.
God delights in freeing us to fulfill His design and calling.
He delights in me. He delights in you.
Take a minute and think about what you've learned in 2019, friend, and how far you've come. Then, together let's turn our attention to 2020 and beyond!
